My name is Magdalena, I came to Iceland in 2007. I work in a bakery, and baking is also my biggest hobby. I also love to travel and spend my time outdoors discovering new places. Teaching Icelandic language is new challenge for me, but I believe with knowledge I have I can help people learn this beautiful language.

I came to Iceland in 2000. From the very beginning I loved the island, the people, and I found the language strange but very interesting. Year by year I learned more and more and today I join the ranks of Liberis. I am happy to be able to share my knowledge and experience gained over the years when it comes to Icelandic language. I love traveling, a good book and getting new experience in every field. I believe that together, in a pleasant atmosphere, me and the Liberis team will find the right path to learning Icelandic so that it ends with your individual success.

I was born and raised in Iceland. I’m 25 years old and I study art in Amsterdam. I particularly enjoy hiking in the mountains, but I am also interested in animation and everything that is happening in the world of art. Since I was a child, I have listened to stories about our beautiful country. I have always been interested in the Icelandic language and Icelandic literature. I want to fully use my skills and interests to help students learn this language and enjoy the process of learning it.

My name is Sylwia and I have been living in Iceland for over 9 years. I work as a teacher’s assistant in a primary school. I have also been an English teacher for past 6 years. Apart from learning foreign languages, I am also interested in makeup. I love a good book and movies based on true stories. In my free time, I explore Iceland with my 7-year-old son and my fiancé. I love traveling with them. I start my adventure with teaching Icelandic full of enthusiasm and faith in my own abilities. See you at classes!”

I first came to Iceland in 2009 to do research on the foreland of the Falljökull glacier. Thanks to that, I graduated in geography from the University of Warsaw, and that’s also how my passion for Iceland began. In 2013, I returned to start a year-long project from the EU Erasmus+ program (formerly the European Voluntary Service) dedicated to sustainable development and eco-politics at Hostelling International Iceland. I didn’t expect that after a year I would decide to stay longer and eventually settle here for good. In 2022, I graduated in the BA programme Íslenska sem annað mál from the University of Iceland. My BA thesis was about online learning and whether it is the future of Icelandic teaching (with Gísli Hvanndal Ólafsson as a supervisor). I now have a family here, Icelandic citizenship and I am very happy with my choice of “new home”.
