Ewa Koprowska

teacher

ewa@liberis.is

Here’s what Ewa says about herself:

I first came to Iceland in 2009 to do research on the foreland of the Falljökull glacier. Thanks to that, I graduated in geography from the University of Warsaw, and that’s also how my passion for Iceland began. In 2013, I returned to start a year-long project from the EU Erasmus+ program (formerly the European Voluntary Service) dedicated to sustainable development and eco-politics at Hostelling International Iceland. I didn’t expect that after a year I would decide to stay longer and eventually settle here for good. In 2022, I graduated in the BA programme Íslenska sem annað mál from the University of Iceland. My BA thesis was about online learning and whether it is the future of Icelandic teaching (with Gísli Hvanndal Ólafsson as a supervisor). I now have a family here, Icelandic citizenship and I am very happy with my choice of “new home”.

Adrianna Łuczejko

teacher

adrianna@liberis.is

Here’s what Adrianna says about herself:

I moved to Iceland in 2009. At first, I planned to study dental technology, but I soon realized that this field was not the right fit for me. Instead, I gained diverse experience by working in different areas, both in the service industry and in running my own business. I have always had a strong interest in languages, especially Icelandic, and today I work as an interpreter alongside teaching. I look forward to working with my students on strengthening their Icelandic skills. See you in class!

Ewelina Okurowska

Here’s what Ewelina says about herself:

My name is Ewelina, and in 2014 I moved with my family to Iceland, where I am raising two children and building both my personal and professional life. I work daily as a caregiver for the elderly at Hrafnista and in the rehabilitation ward at Grensás, which provides me with valuable experience working with people and the ability to handle demanding situations with confidence. I studied at the Retor school and later completed a Bachelor’s degree in Icelandic as a second language at the University of Iceland. In the meantime, I completed a one-year course in elderly care and care for individuals with conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and dementia, as well as an interpreter training course at Mímir. I am currently preparing to begin a Master’s program in speech therapy, which is my long-term professional goal. I am also very happy to have the opportunity to work as an Icelandic language teacher at Liberis Fræðsla – it is a new, inspiring experience that brings me great satisfaction and motivation for continued personal and professional growth.

Thibault Sallé

teacher

thibault@liberis.is

Here’s what Thibault says about herself:

I am a language teacher from France. I have taught French in the United Kingdom and English in France. I have lived in Iceland for ten years and have worked, among other things, as a preschool teacher, and recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Icelandic as a second language.

I find it very enriching to meet people from different countries and cultures, and I enjoy learning new languages. In my work, I emphasize supporting students in a positive way, connecting the Icelandic language to their daily lives, and creating a safe and encouraging learning environment where everyone can express themselves on their own terms. I also have a particular interest in using drawing as support in language learning, as it can facilitate understanding and provide students with additional ways to express themselves in a new language. I enjoy practicing sports, especially martial arts. I love going swimming and hiking, meeting friends, and drawing.
