  • Assessment for obtaining a certificate: 
    It is necessary to complete 80% attendance and actively participate in classes to receive a graduation certificate. At the end of the course, there will be a short review of the course material.
  • For whom:
    The course is intended for those who have completed Icelandic at level A2.1-A or have equivalent knowledge. It is suitable for participants who wish to improve their communication skills in everyday situations, expand their vocabulary, and learn to use Icelandic in various contexts – at work, in school, and in daily life.
  • Objectives: 
    The aim of the course is to develop the ability to understand and use Icelandic in different everyday situations. Emphasis is placed on practicing speaking and listening through realistic conversations, using the most common verbs in the present and past tense, correctly applying pronouns and prepositions, and describing people, daily routines, and situations clearly. 
    Participants will also gain deeper insight into Icelandic culture, everyday life, and the geography of Iceland. 
  • The course will cover the following topics: 
    vocabulary related to the home, furniture, and moving; use of prepositions (“við”, “með”, “til”) and  personal pronouns, 
    daily routines and schedules; regular and irregular verbs in the present and past tense, 
    personality, emotions, and adjectives; use of reflexive verbs, 
    travel, regions of Iceland, summer holidays, and interactions with guests. 
  • Additional information: 
    Audio recordings, short conversations, language games (e.g. Kahoot, board games) are used. Homework and exercises in pairs or groups are used as support.
